YAGA - Espresso
Variety:
Process:
Some days the rain makes the plan for you. The window fogs up, whatever you had in mind gets cancelled, and the kitchen starts to smell like coffee. YAGA is made for those days. It comes from Kirinyaga in Kenya, a place that lives by its rainy seasons, so it feels right at home on a rainy fall day.
In the cup it starts deep and wine-like, like a glass of Pinot poured early because it got dark at five. Then it turns warm and sweet, like cranberry pie still cooling on the counter, and it finishes with candied clementine, a small bright spot while it keeps raining outside.
This coffee took its time to get here, so you can take yours. Pull it as an espresso or brew it in the moka pot, and stay in a little longer. YAGA is one of our rotating single origins, roasted in small batches and here for the rainy season.
