Hey, I’m Leonie – and today I’m taking you with me to my favorite city: Copenhagen.

Copenhagen tastes like filter coffee and smells like yeast. It’s this unmistakable blend of Nordic calm, flavor precision, and a deep-rooted sense of quality. The coffee scene here isn’t just for those who take specialty coffee seriously – it’s a full-blown lifestyle.

And I love it.

This city breathes design, rides bikes, ferments, and constantly sets new standards in both taste and aesthetics. Everything’s within walking distance – with a coffee in one hand and a croissant in the other.

What makes it even better: many cafés here share the same values we do – quality, transparency, and a love for craft.

And yes, they’re pouring the same oat milk: Minor Figures has become the city’s unofficial standard – smooth, creamy, and as barista-friendly as it gets.

Here are my Copenhagen coffee favorites – curated by passion, not by algorithm.

Andersen & Maillard

For me, the dream team of roastery and bakery. The roasts are modern and fruit-forward without going over the top. The pastry lineup? Dangerously good – especially anything with black sesame or their chocolate croissants.

Plus: impeccable aesthetics and extra-buttery, extra-flaky croissants.

Prolog

Solid as ever. They know their craft – at the grinder and in the way they design their spaces. Espresso is on point, filter has depth, and the vibe is friendly yet focused. No fuss, no gimmicks. One of the rare places where you can trust the coffee, no matter what’s on the menu.

 Juno the Bakery

If there’s one thing worth queuing for in Copenhagen, it’s their cardamom buns. Juno is more than just a “great bakery.” It’s a place where pastry feels precision-built rather than baked. The knots are an experience, the croissants snap just right. Served with filter coffee from Prolog. Perfect match.

April Coffee

April feels calm, almost meditative. There’s a clear Japanese-inspired hospitality here – no distractions, everything intentional. Their roasts are light, transparent, and all about clarity. If you see coffee as a craft, this is the place to be.

Atelier September

Okay, confession: you don’t come here just for the coffee. It’s all about the whipped butter on bread, or the avocado with poached egg and toasted seeds. The kitchen is strong, the interior minimalist Scandinavian – and everything about it feels thoughtfully unfussy.

The Roe Bar

Part café, part interior store, part brunch haven. Stylish without being showy. Great coffee, great matcha, generous brunch – all served in a space filled with furniture you’ll want to take home. And it works. If you’re looking for a place to truly unwind, without feeling the urge to pull out your phone – this is it.

La Cabra

A classic, yes – but one that always delivers. I love how clear their cups are, and how they manage to draw out even the tiniest notes from each bean. La Cabra is a cornerstone of Danish coffee culture. No chaos, no trendy distractions – just consistently great coffee.

And because coffee without pastry simply doesn’t feel complete in Scandinavia, I’ve fallen even harder for Danish pastry culture.

By the way, our partner-in-crime bakery BLACK APRON is currently reimagining a few Scandinavian classics. Stay tuned... the air is thick with cinnamon and cardamom.

Copenhagen doesn’t inspire with noise – but with intention. The way coffee is thought about and served here reflects a mindset we deeply share at CODOS. It’s about quality, sustainability, flavor – and above all, the moment.
And it’s these moments we’re bringing home. Into our roasts, our shops, our new pastry line. Stay tuned.
