Today we’re sharing one of our all-time favorite desserts - the affogato. This little Italian gem is pure pleasure and blissfully simple. Picture this: a scoop of velvety vanilla ice cream slowly melting under a shot of hot espresso (by the way, affogato means "drowned" in Italian). Pure magic, right? 🍨


Like many culinary classics, the affogato’s exact origin is a bit of a mystery. What we do know? The Italians invented it (grazie mille! 🇮🇹). Some say it popped up in the 1950s, others claim it goes back even further. But honestly - all that matters is that it exists.

How to make the perfect affogato
The best part? It couldn’t be easier. Here’s all you need:

1–2 scoops of really good vanilla ice cream (yes, quality truly matters here!)
A freshly pulled, piping hot espresso

That’s it. No frills, no fuss. Just place the ice cream in a beautiful glass, pour the espresso over, and you’re done. 🎉
